Hello! My name is Kaitlin Pryde, and I am one of the 4th grade teachers at Banner Elementary School! This is my second year of teaching, but my first year in the Dunlap School District! I am so excited to be returning back "home"!
I grew up and attended school in Dunlap my entire life! I was a student at Dunlap Grade School, Dunlap Middle School & Dunlap Valley Middle School, and Dunlap High School. After graduating, I decided to stay close to home. I attended both Illinois Central College and Bradley University. In May of 2016, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, as well as with middle school endorsements in both science and language arts. Last year was my first year as a teacher. I taught 4th grade at Peoria Heights Grade School before coming to Banner! I love teaching 4th grade because my students are excited about their learning, and are able to apply their classroom learning in the real world!
I am the oldest of four children in my family! I have two brothers, Sam and Luke, and a sister, Emily. My family is very important to me, and I spend much of my free time with them! Another very special person in my life is my boyfriend, Ryan. This past spring, Ryan and I adopted a beagle puppy named Rudy!
I became a teacher because I was so fortunate to have so many amazing teachers while I was growing up! I looked up to these individuals with so much admiration, and I truly believe these teachers are what inspired me to become one myself. I hope to create a fun, engaging, and supportive learning environment for all of my students. More than anything, I hope to be an inspirational figure in my students' lives, just as my teachers once were to me!
